Home Grown Books

Home Grown Books was created by Kyla Ryman and Sarah Rogene to teach literacy without the tedium that accompanies some reading lessons. They collaborate with artists to create delightful books for early readers.

Set 1 contains nine books that have one, two, or three words per page accompanied by vivid watercolors and line drawings by artist Cecile Dyer. The artwork and reading structure will give your child a first reading experience that fills their imagination and feels effortless!

Set 2 includes seven books full of lush cut paper images by artist Nathalie Trovato. It has one to six words per page, building up the structural complexity of the text. Children are drawn into all the ways they can look at the same ideas and concepts and then relate them to their own experience. The language is simple and strong while also making relevant connections to a child’s world.
